Kefalonia Island is part of the Ionian Islands and one of the prime vacation spots in Greece. It is celebrated for its dramatic scenery combining mountain and sea—the island of contrasts, a mix of mythology and history.

In Kefalonia, you can enjoy the Greek nature, the fresh sea breeze, the welcoming waters of the Ionian Sea, the traditional Greek cuisine and the unique Greek hospitality!

To the north of the island, there are high white cliffs plunging into the stunning blue waters and in the south of the island Mount Ainos towers above with its emerald green slopes covered in the Abies Kefalonica fir trees. It’s an island of phenomena and mystery where sea water on the west coast forces its way through the mountains and crosses to the east coast forming the magnificent Melissani underground lake and our Island’s Saint whose body remained completely intact after being buried for 2 years and can be seen today in a splendid silver sarcophagus in the Omala Valley.

Argostoli, the capital of Kefalonia, is 31 km from Agia Efimia and is definitely worth a day trip. An afternoon walk on the "lithostroto" makes for great shopping and relaxing cafes. Kefalonia's two caves, Drogarati and Melissani, have taken thousands of years to form. The multi-colored stalactites and stalagmites are a visit sure to remember.

The beautiful Monastery of St. Gerasimos is a must-see. Close by, the old church, which is built above the tomb and cave where the Saint lived, holds the Saint's relics.

Further north the village of Fiscardo is a recommended trip for our visitors. This venetian style town is known for it's pretty harbour filled with fishing boats, luxury yachts and daily cruisers. Fiscardo was the only village in Kefalonia not affected by the earthquake in 1953, showing off the islands original beauty.

MYRTOS BEACH

It is considered the most famous beach in Kefalonia. The beach has a blue flag every year and it is in the top ten beaches in Europe. From the road above you have the most stunning view of the beach, known for the contrast of the white pebble and the shades of blue that the currents create in the sea with the dark green of the area.

DROGARATI CAVE

The cave is dated more than 100 million years. It's considered one of the most beautiful caves in Greece. The acoustics are unbelievable and from time to time concerts take place in it. Also a "not to miss" sight, near village Chaliotata.

ASSOS VILLAGE

Assos is a small and picturesque fishing village 36 kilometers away from Argostoli. It is known for its imposing 16th century Venetian fortress. The fortress was built in 1585, when Assos became the capital of the northern part of the island, and it is a typical masterpiece of the Renaissance architecture.

At the northern end of the island, maybe the most graphic landscape in Greece. Thousands of yachts visit this amazing bay every year. Also surrounded by an amazing scenery.
